MILFORD, CT — The Milford tax collector office reminds taxpayers that the July 1 tax installment is due by Aug 1.

Payment must be received by Aug. 1 or be postmarked by Aug. 1 to not be considered late. Bills that are $200 or less must be paid in a single installment.

If you have not received a tax bill, please contact the Tax Collector at 203-783-3217. By Connecticut General Statute, failure to have received a bill does not exempt the taxpayer from payment of all taxes, interest charges, and collections costs/fees. Interest is charged on all late payments by statute, no exceptions. If the installment is not paid on of before August 1, 222, it is subject to interest at the statutory rate of 1.5 percent per month, calculated from July 1, 2022, or a $2.00 minimum, whichever is more.

MAIL: Please mail the correct bill coupon with payment to: Milford Tax Collector, P.O. Box 3025, Milford, CT 06460. To be on time, payment must be received, or USPS postmarked by August 1, 2022. If a receipt is required, include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

DROP BOX: Do NOT deposit cash payments. Interior drop box available during business hours Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. Exterior drop box available 24/7 and is located outside the Parsons Government Building on the sidewalk near the entrance to the Tax Office. Payments are date stamped, secured, and processed as time allows. No guarantee of same day processing. Considered timely according to date stamp. Payments submitted during non-business hours will be received when the office reopens. Please ensure payment is submitted by 4:30pm August 1, 2022, or payment will be considered late.

Resident Parking Sticker Information: Current DMV vehicle registration required to be presented to request your sticker. Additional information may be required. Stickers may be requested in person, by mail or online. To learn more or apply online please click here.

Motor Vehicle Information: The July 1, 2022 tax bills reflect vehicle ownership as of the Grand List date 10/1/2021. The bill covers the time period of 10/1/2021-9/30/2022. If you have CANCELED your vehicle license plate and NO LONGER OWN the vehicle, kindly notify the ASSESSOR 203-783-3215. The Assessor will require documented proof and determine if your vehicle is eligible for reassessment. Then, the Tax Collector will recalculate your bill based on the new assessment. The bill is STILL DUE by 8/1/22. (or you can pay your bill, and if you are eligible for an adjustment at a later date, then you could be eligible for a refund).
